The president of SCEE David Reeves recognized that the line of games for PSP in 2008 wasn't sufficient is good, but they are going to correct it in 2009.

Excerpts from interview:

"There was a big competition, publishers had 4 consoles plus PC. They didn't put efforts to development of games for PSP in the USA and Europe." - Reeves told.

"In Japan many publishers were engaged in development of games for PSP. Such games as Monster Hunter, Phantasy Star Portable and Dissidia caused huge sales of PSP. But in Europe there were no big engines of a platform."

"Now I can tell that the line of games for PSP in 2009 in two-three times will be stronger, than it was last year”

"We had no games in August, September last year. We had no Monster Hunter or Dissidia. But possibly from March to July you will see that the situation changes.”

Reeves also asked that he thinks about that on DS 185 games, and on PSP only 44 announced:

"The quantity doesn't depend on quality, isn't it? Development of games for DS takes away smaller quantity of resources, and profit on it smaller doesn't become. In 2009г at us will be much loud announcements, and not only game".

Reeves as should ask rather World economic crisis and as it influences the game industry: 

"The game industry, despite recession of world economy, feels quite healthy. Yes, some studios are closed and remain without work, but believe, within several days-weeks they will work in other studios. This situation is a test for professionals if they those are - they will consult, and won't go to the right and on the left being scattered by a price-katami, destroying the market".
